X-Rings are versatile and are used in almost all industries, for example in pneumatics, the automotive industry and in plant and mechanical engineering.

X-Rings have a higher stability than O-Rings

They are similar to O-rings, but have a significantly higher stability thanks to their X structure. As a result, the media pressure of the X-rings in the operating state strengthens the sealing function and ensures that, for example, cover seals, hydraulic cylinders and pipe fittings are absolutely leak-proof.

Sealing with X-rings: axial or radial installation space possible

X-rings are used for either static or dynamic applications, just like O-rings. In static applications, our X-rings are used to seal stationary system and machine parts securely and reliably against liquid or gaseous media. This is necessary, for example, in flanges, bushings or hydraulic cylinders.

The dynamic application is used for overlapping, rotating and oscillating screw movements. Thanks to its optimized profile, the X-ring is significantly more stable and does not twist. The compression pressure is distributed more favorably, ensuring an even better sealing effect.

X-rings achieve their sealing effect by being installed and compressed in an axial or radial installation space.

X-Rings as double-acting four-lip seals

Our X-Rings are double-acting four-lip seals with an almost square cross-section profile. They achieve their dynamic properties under pressure, significantly improving the sealing quality.

Compared to O-rings, X-rings have the following advantages: they can be used for longer, they do not twist the groove, they have a lower compression set and frictional resistance, better sealing behavior, and no disturbing manufacturing burr on the sealing surfaces.
