Damping seals are required in pneumatic cylinders. They are part of the design for controlled end position deceleration. Standard designs consisting of several components are often used for this purpose: a damping seal, an O-ring for static sealing and an elastomer stop washer. The installation groove for the damping seal is either clamped or a mortized retaining washer is required.
