V-Rings are frequently used in heavy industry and have to withstand a lot. During installation, they are stretched over the shaft and pushed into their final position. During operation, they protect the actual sealing element against external influences.

V-ring seals usually wear out quickly – but not our products. Thanks to their sophisticated design, they have a long service life. The Merkel Enviromatic V-ring deflector offers the highest standard.

V-ring seal of the highest standard – the Merkel Enviromatic deflector

The design of the sealing lip is crucial for the high functionality of a V-ring seal or deflector. For less demanding applications, a standard V-ring is perfectly adequate – thanks to a flexible sealing lip, it makes full-surface contact with the counterface. For demanding applications such as those found in heavy industry, among others, we have designed the Merkel Enviromatic deflector, which offers a unique sealing function and a long service life.

The FEM-optimized sealing lip maintains linear contact with a defined force even when the counterface is subject to large deflections, which means that the tribological properties in the sealing gap remain controllable.

Furthermore, we rely on a special material mixture and depots for lubricant absorption in our V-sealing rings. The high-performance Enviromatic deflectors are available in versions A and AX and can be used in existing installation spaces for standard V-ring seals.
